  1. Justine Henin is 5'6 and she is number one in the world.  It's mostly because she has good footwork and she is mentally tough.  Her groundstrokes are also really great.  When she plays against the bigger people she doesn't just think that the taller person is better.  She knows that sometimes taller people can't run as well or get to low balls.  That's how she's number 1.

  2. Justine Henin-Hardenne - 5 feet 5¾ inches

  3. of coure andy roddick is like 5ft 1 and hes awsome

  4. Justine Henin is short but she is World # 1. Hewitt is not a six-footer but he won Slams and even briefly held the World # 1 ranking

  5. Olivier Rochus and his brother are about 5'6", Lleyton Hewitt is about 5'9", Grojean is about 5'8". No players in the top 10 are under 6' though. The average height for the mens ATP tour is 6'3".

  6. Michael Chang is SO not 5'9. I met him at a claycourt tournament (prior to his retirement a couple years back( and he was clearly the same height as my 5'5" cousin. Just had to add that in. hahaha

  7. Lleyton Hewitt is only 5'9

Fabrice Santoro is playing really well for his age and low hieght

  8. Justin Henin. 5"4. World # 1.

  9. As you would expect, there are not many male tennis players under the height of 5'8", but there are quite a few females so lets start there.

Justine Henin, world number one is only about 5'6", and Ana Chakvetadze and Marion Bartoli aren't very tall either.  One of the latest prospects Dominika Cibulkova is only 5'4", while many of the Asian players are also under that hieght, Hsieh, Peng, Li, and I believe Sugiyama, but she may be a little taller.

As for the men only two really come to mind.  The first being Arnold Clement of France, the doubles specialist is just about at 5'7" if i noted that correctly, but he for sure is under 5'8".  Also, Fabrice Santoro is only about 5'6".  He has one of the most unique games ever played, and is also one of the smallest men to play as well.

  10. Fabrice Santoro is 5'10, Michael Chang was 5'9, Jaime Yzaga was 5'7. Amanda Cootzer was microscopic.

  11. Plenty. Former top-ten Sebastian Grosjean is 5'8", as is 2001 Australian Open Runner-up Arnaud Clement. Jaime Yzaga, who beat Pete Sampras in the 1994 US Open, is 5'6". Last but not least, Belgium's Olivier Rochus stands just 5'5". So yes there are quite a few good players who aren't exactly giants.
