Question:

Are there any recycling songs?

Are there any mainstream songs about recycling? Recycling is getting big and I want to know if any one is jumping on and making songs about recycling or even being green in general. I think it would be hard I work at a recycling center and I’m a green person.

Mercy sakes alive, looks like we got us a convoy

Was the dark of the moon, on the sixth of June

    In a Kenworth, pullin' logs

Cabover Pete with a reefer on

    And a Jimmy haulin' hogs

We 'as headin' fer bear on I-One-Oh

    'Bout a mile outta Shaky-Town

I sez Pig-Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck

An' I'm about to put the hammer on down

Cause we gotta little ol' convoy, rockin' through the night

Yeah we gotta little ol' convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?

Come on an' join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna git in our way

We're gonna roll this truckin' convoy, cross the USA

    Convoy... Convoy...

Uh, breaker Pig-Pen, this here's The Duck

Uh, you wanna back off them hogs

10-4, 'bout five mile or so, 10-roger

Them hogs is gittin' in-tense up here

By the time we got into Tulsa-Town

We had eighty-five trucks in all

But they's a road block up on the clover leaf

An' them bears 'as wall to wall

Yeah them smokies 'as thick as bugs on a bumper

    They even had a bear-in-the-air

Uh, negatory Pig-Pen, yer still too close

Yeah, them hogs is startin' close up my sinuses

Mercy sakes, you better back off another ten

Well we rolled up interstate fourty-four

Like a rocket sled on rails

We tore up all a our swindle sheets

An' left 'em settin' on the scales

By the time we hit that Chi-Town

Them bears was a gittin' smart

    They'd brought up some reinforcements

    From the Illinois National Guard

There 'as armored cars, and tanks, and Jeeps

    An' rigs of every size

Yeah them chicken coops 'as full a bears

    An' choppers filled the skies

Well we shot the line, an' we went for broke

    With a thousand screamin' trucks

And eleven long-haired friends of Jesus

    In a chartreusse microbus

    Hey Sod Buster, listen

You wanna put that microbus in behind the suicide jockey?

    Yeah, he's haulin dynamite

He needs all the help he can git

Well we laid a strip fer the Jersey Shore

An' prepared to cross the line

I could see the bridge 'as lined with bears

    But I didn't have a doggone dime

I sez Pig-Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck

We just ain't a gonna pay no toll

So we crashed the gate doin' ninety-eight

I sez, let them truckers roll, 10-4

Cause we gotta mighty convoy, rockin' through the night

Yeah we gotta mighty convoy, ain't she a beautiful sight?

Come on an' join our convoy, ain't nothin' gonna git in our way

An' the bears off yer... tail

This here's the Rubber Duck on the side

    We gone

    Bye, Bye...

  3. jack johnson has a song called the 3 R's.

  4. Not that I know of, although recycling is kind of arbitrary... Doesn't save money, and the processing that it takes to recycle stuff usually winds up polutting the air more than if you mined it new... Just sayin

    "Roses are red

    Violets are blue

    Recycle *****

    Or Greenpeace kills you"

  5. It's not that easy being green, but I'm not sure who it's by =)

I was ridin' round town in a hurry honey

    Down South Avenue

    You looked so pretty

    As you were ridin' along

    You looked so pretty

When you were singin' this s-o o--o--ng

Down up peddles, down up down

Gotta get across to the other side of town

Gotta get across to the other side of town

Before the sun goes down, before the sun goes down

Oh,Oh: Down up peddles down up down \etc etc etc.

We used to sing it when we were little.I don't know rhe artist but it was a British pop hit from the early 1970's I think.

  8. Jack Johnson's "3 R's" is the best one that I can think of.

    Three, that's the magic number

yes it is, its a magic number

    Two times three is six

and three times six is eighteen

and the eighteenth letter in the alphabet is R

There's three Rs we're going to be talking about today

You gotta learn to Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Reduce Reuse Recycle

If you're going to the market to buy some juice

bring your own bags and you'll learn to reduce your waste

    Gotta reduce your waste

And if your brother or your sisters got some cool clothes

try them on before you buy some of those

    reuse

    you gotta learn to reuse

And if the first two Rs dont work out

and you gotta make some trash, dont throw it out

    Recycle

    You gotta learn to recycle

You gotta learn to Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Reduce Reuse Recycle

    Reduce Reuse Recycle

'cause three, that's the magic number

yes it is, its a magic number

The song is based off of an old schoolhouse rock tune. He's fairly active when it comes to environmental concerns, I know he has raised money for different organizations.

You've got to bring your own bags and you learn to reduce your waste

And if your brother or your sister's got some cool clothes

You could try them on before you buy some more of those

Reuse, we've got to learn to reuse

And if the first two R's don't work out

And if you've got to make some trash

    3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30, 33, 36

  13. Recycle, recycle, and use it again.

Show them that you're Mother Nature's friend.

Recycle, recycle, don't throw it away.

You can use it another day.

I see garbage up and down the street,

It's kinda stinky in the summer heat.

It doesn't have to be such a waste,

You can put it in a better place.

Recycle, recycle, and use it again.

Show them that you're Mother Nature's friend.

Recycle, recycle, don't throw it away.

You can use it another day.

    Everywhere I see aluminum cans,

Somebody threw them there without a plan.

I say it doesn't have to be that way,

It's something you can do every day.

Recycle, recycle, and use it again.

Show them that you're Mother Nature's friend.

Recycle, recycle, don't throw it away.

You can use it another day.

Take your newspapers and your glass,

Separate 'em from the kitchen trash.

Your plastic bottles and the cans,

Give 'em to the recycling man.

Recycle, recycle, and use it again.

Show them that you're Mother Nature's friend.

Recycle, recycle, don't throw it away.

You can use it another day.
