  1. all redheads i know fry. the red hair comes from ireland(i think)and it's not very warm there, so their skin doesn't like it. i guess, anyway...

  2. I am a redhead and I do not tan. Just like most people with african black skin have naturally non-straight hair, most redheads have pale skin incapable of tanning. Get over the idea that tan is more attractive than pale because just like different people are attracted to different hair colors, different people are attracted to different skin colors.

  3. dont worry about it..ginger's skin color is beautiful :) i love the pale and frecklish complextion..its unique and beautiful

my hair is dyed red..and im pale so i look like a real red head :)

  4. use an artifical tanner! from aveeno! works great. or try jergans.

  5. Yeah, I have dark red hair [almost brown] and I tan pretty good.

And btw, ginger and red hair arent the same thing.

  6. The skin type tends to come with the hair, smart one. Anyway, I think pale skin looks nice on redheads, since I guess it was meant to be that way. I wouldn't tan too much, you'll only wrinkle faster when you're older! Stay natural, babygurl.

  7. umm yea ur a ginger u burn

  8. gingers don't tan do they? don't they just burn?

    no offense, lol.

  9. Don't do it by sun, they are harmful rays =(  wrinkles and other harmful health affects can come of too much exposure.  If you want to tan and actually tan nicely go to a tanning salon or I think there are some lotions that allow tanning but protect skin...?  Check it out! =)

  10. Yeah. Lindsay Lohan can tan. Also it has nothing to do with your hair. Just your skin type.

  11. no.. they burn rlly bad

  12. There are redheads out there that can tan but they tend to have darker skin or they have yellow undertones rather than pink.  Most people with fair skin and pink undertones do not tan well, if at all.  It sounds like this is your skin type.  You should accept your fair skin and flaunt it.  I assume you only burn in the sun.  By trying to tan and burning instead, you are damaging your skin and the damage (wrinkles, freckles, etc.) will show more because your skin is so light.

You can try building a light tan very gradually if you want to.  I had a friend who was very fair, blond w/green eyes.  She did not tan easily at all, but she started out slow--adding a little more time each time she layed out.  It took several weeks, however, before her tan was even noticeable.

You can try one of the self-tanners on the market now, but get one geared towards fair skin or you will look orange.

Personally, I tan very well, but as I have gotten older, I'm noticing all the cumulative damage and it's not really worth it.  Luckily, I always wore sunscreen so I don't look ancient!  I am very moderate with my sun exposure now and I use self-tanners.  You will look better in your 30's and beyond if you avoid the sun.

  13. one of my redhead friends is as pale as this page, but my other redhead friend is wayyy tanner than me and i am pretttyyyy tan.

  14. I'm a natural redhead & I tan but not all gingers burn.

I use tanning oil. I use banana boat oil with spf 4

I'm acctually very dark right now.

And the person farther down that said Natural sun is worse than going to a tanning salon is a dumbass moron.
