I got this idea from a special on TV a while back that showed some people in the world eating monkey brains. And then today I saw a question answered by a little Y!A monkey named Pongo while at the same time I realized I was hungry for breakfast. Then I put 2 and 2 together and wondered.....

poll: Open Pit sauce or Blazin Hot Mambo sauce on your grilled monkey meat?

  1. Hey bigeyes, have you ever heard of tongue in cheek humor before?  This question was obviously meant to tweak a funny bone or 2 and should not be taken seriously.

I think we should test this out on a monkey, hmmmm Pongo, oh Pongo, come here a moment would you?

I think Open Pit would go well with my monkey

  2. McDonalds... And certain Taquerias in the Southern Region of the States.

  3. Some stuff like that is illegal in the us... you know, dog and cat meat, and a few other animals we consider "pets"

  4. Well i live in the south and we wouldnt eat anything that disgusting.. NOW i have heard but never would try mountain oysters or chitterlings.

  5. Yeah maybe a handful like in the south... but the rest of the non-redneck americans wouldn't approve of that kid of food.

  6. i live outside of new orleans, and if they don't have it here, they don't have it anywhere! nope, no monkeys! but i know in southern california they do have spanish restraunts where you can get cow brains and cow tongue and a few other horribly disgusting dishes like that. let's stick with the wide variety of meat we have, no need to expand!

  7. The Horror - I saw that once one the 'Movie' faces of death and thought it was fake. It isn't! A co-worker of mine was in China and went to a restaurant where they serve it. They put the poor Monkey in a cage in the center of the table with his head sticking out and the guest of honor whacks him with a hammer. The waiter has some device that opens the head - I'm thinking PETA would have major issues in the USA - I'll stick to some Brass Monkey myself - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_neay1HfK...

  8. So it isn't enough you want to eat squirrels.  Now you're becoming a cannibal?

  9. if you look really hard you qwill find something but there may be dog and cat and alligators. they would be mor ecommon. happy huntings.

  10. No, you cannot legally eat monkeys in the US--it is illegal to kill any endangered species, and most animal meats that are outside the "norm" for Westerners are prohibited from sale.

In the Appalachian regions and in the Deep South, it is legal to eat things like squirrel, raccoon, and aligator, but these aren't commonly eaten elsewhere. Ethnic grocery stores and restaurants sometimes get busted for selling stuff like rat meat.

A general rule of thumb is: if most Westerners wouldn't eat it, it's probably illegal.

  11. Hey maybe you would like to talk to some one from P.E.T.A.????

I think it is cruel to kill an animal in such a way. Why can't some one come up with a recipe for monkey SH@T???

Maybe then the monkeys could be safe...

  12. good for you

Monkeys have several viruses that do not necessarily die easily,, stupid idea.. Remember the monkey is not dead and the brain is eaten raw,, Most monkeys carry the HIV virus..Most monkey's are on the Endangered list..Most nations - - - keeping monkeys is Illegal..

    As for food and NOT this nonsense try;;;
