Question:

Are there any restaurants that serve lactose free entrees?

My 3-month-old daughter was just diagnosed with lactose intolerance. So, since I'm breast feeding her, I now have to eat a lactose free diet. This is okay at home, but I'd like to go out to eat once in awhile. Does anyone know of main-chain restaurants that serve lactose free entrees?

  1. I would try some Japanese or Chinese restaurants.  Specify that you want lactose-free just to be sure.

  2. I don't have a name for you, but are you SURE you must have a lactose free diet? If so, I'm sure any vegan restaurant would work for you, if you're into that sort of thing. If not, be very specific when you order. ASK your waiter/waitress if there are any dairy products in the food you order. You realize of course, if you stay away from creamed soups, cream sauces and things with cheese, you are pretty safe as far as entrees. Desserts might be more of a challenge, but if you have a 3 mo. old, you're probably trying to drop a little weight anyway. Fresh fruit is a good choice.

    Congratulations on your new baby.

  3. You could always have some sherbets. Try Baskin robbins. I am also lactose intolerant.

  4. I don't think any of the main chains are going to have those...
