Are there any restaurants without music?

It's so annoying: wherever you go for dinner, you bet there is some background music playing.

I have no idea why the owners think that playing music makes their place more attracttive to patrons.

Those that the music is really upbeat and loud is usually more for the wait staff to keep them upbeat and the drinkers. I can't stand going and you have to yell to hear the person you are with. When my mother takes my grandmother out for lunch, she asks them to turn it down..it is usually ignored or it goes down for a minute and then right back up. That happened at O'Charlies last time my grandmother was taken there. Mom got the manager over there and told them they were ignored then it went down then the music went back up. It was cut off and he told the waitresses that they would not be having music for the rest of the day because they ignored the customers request. Bravo!
