  1. Your boyfriend is misinformed or joking lol. Lutherans are one of the most relaxed Protestant denominations. I've been one for my entire life and there are absolutely no color restrictions. My wedding will be in our Lutheran church next summer and it's going to be bright turquoise and orange! My SiL to be just had pink and green in the same church and my brother had purple in his Lutheran church. My fiance's other sister had lavender and gold and she got married in the same church we are. My mom, also Lutheran, had her BMs wearing dark red dresses. I even went to a Lutheran wedding in VA where each girl had a different fall-colored dress! There are certainly no color restrictions!! Go crazy girl!!

    Good luck ( =

  2. To which synod does your boyfriend belong? Some are very conservative, some rather less so. I do know that some Lutheran *locations* strongly suggest that you incorporate the liturgical colours for the season in your wedding colours. However, I believe that is just a suggestion.

  3. I don't think so! He's probably joking around. Those colors sound beautiful.

    Congratulations =)

  4. Well I'm no expert but my aunt was married in a Lutheran church and her colors were rose and ivory.  I think he is wrong or messing with you.

  5. traditionally, he's right. however times have changed, and so have traditions. red and white will be fine! it wont be disrespectful, it would only be if we still lived in the 1900s

  6. Um, your boyfriend doesn't know what he's talking about.  If you want your bridesmaids in red dresses and have red and white flowers, there is nothing wrong with that.

  7. I was at a lutheran wedding where the colors were sage green with touches of pink!

    I've never heard of religious rules over the colors....talk to the pastor.

  8. I have never heard that, but it may be a rule within his church.

    Ask the church.
