Question:

Are there any retrofit flush mount lights that can be mounted into a 30/30 box or electrical box?

I used to have those ugly dish lights that bugs call the cemetery upstairs. I since removed those and found they are mounted over an electrical box that is nailed straight into a stud that probably runs the length of the roof. I'd imagine it probably isn't safe to cut that out and put a recessed can in there (which I'd really like to do. Are that any other options for very low profile lighting? Oh, I need it to be flush mount, thanks!

  1. Other than a newer style flush mount there should be a few options for you. Track lighting has come a long way. Check out Nora Lighting. If you have acces to the space above you ceiling you might still be able to do recessed. They have smaller units down to 3" that might get you around beams. Nora also have them. Also check Elco Lighting. Both offer quality products that fit tight and match up to most any application. Not knowing what room you were talking about limits the suggestions that could be made.
