We had a little bug problem because of all the heat, and a couple lizards got in our home. Well, those couple lizards became, I don't know, six or seven.

We have a five year old in the house, and we want to make sure that there isn't in harm in leaving them there. I really like the lizards in my home honestly, we haven't had a bug or spider for a while.

  1. they carry a certain bacteria in their stomach that could cause problems to your little one if he ate the droppings

  2. I've lived around lizards all my life, most of the time on a ranch.  I've never seen a lizard bite or attack anyone unless they were first attacked.  As long as they are not Gila Monsters (not the sort of lizard you're talking about!) they will not be poisonous.  Mostly, lizards try to avoid humans, and if someone tries to grab one, the most they will likely grab is a tail, which breaks off - the lizard slowly regrows the tail.

  3. The single thing I have found annoying is when they leave their little "pellets" laying around.  That is outweighed by their usefulness  in keeping the insects cleaned up.  There is no problem what so ever for your youngster.
