Prince Charles dabbles with Islam as well with the Greek Orthodox Church and has said that the King or Queen of England should be "The Defender of the Faiths" rather than "The Defender of the Faith", the Anglican Catholic Church.  Statements such as this one sound more politically correct, or perhaps agnostic (and hedging one's bets), than atheistic.

    When Henry VIII declared himself the head of the Anglican Church, devout Roman Catholics (both in England and in Europe) declared that Henry was an Atheist, having disavowed the Universal Church.  Historically, many British monarchs, most notably the Stuarts, along with their counterparts elsewhere, have been more concerned about asseting "the divine right of of kings" than confessing or denying any religious faith.

  3. Do a google and you'll be surprised what most of them believe.
