Are there any scholarships exclusively for valedictorians?

My friend is high school valedictorian, and I want to surprise him with a valedictorian scholarship. He is attending a state college that does not offer scholarships based on valedictorian status. (Although, he did get a president's scholarship from the univerisity).

Are there any 3rd party scholarships just for valedictorians? I've tried fastweb.com, and I found nothing.

I have never heard of a third-party scholarship based on the recipient being a valedictorian.  I've worked in Financial Aid for 22 years, and have heard of nothing even remotely close to this.  

It's a sweet idea, but I think your friend will need to apply for scholarships for himself.
