For example, those guys' explaination of wind seems extremely suspect. Add to this list flight, energy transference and evolution.

  1. The helicopter lift equation was always a bit of black magic for me at uni. I could never seem to get it derived properly from first principles.

Of course, everybody knows that there is no such thing as aerodynamics, aircraft stay aloft purely through pilots praying. Why do you think it is that they never want to be disturbed?

  2. Indeed.  Evolution is way up there on my list.  I can't accept that I am the result of and explosion.  When something explodes it creates a mess, not more order.  It would be like explaining the Mona Lisa's creation being due to a paint factory explosion:  not possible.

  3. I didn't "buy" any of them - I got them for free with my science education.

  4. Yes as a matter of fact there is. I don't buy that whole cell/atom business! They say that we are really made up of tiny particles called cells which are in turn made up of even smaller particles called atoms, I say shenanigans! We are all made up of small particles of Boston's Baked Beans, yummmm...

  5. No.  By the time something has made it into the technical journals, it has been vetted by experts, and the odds are overwhelming that it is correct.  Some things, such as flight and evolution, are provably correct.  (I own an airplane.)
