Are there any serious cyclists who use spinning to stay in shape?

I've been taking spinning classes lately when I can't make it to a group ride and have been enjoying it quite a bit. Surprisingly, when I do ride outside, I feel much stronger. I'm just wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

  1. Not spinning per se, but I use an indoor trainer during bad weather and the winter. I don't "spin"; I usually just ride at my normal pace.  But even though the trainer is a good workout, I feel a "real" ride outside is better and also passes the time better.


  2. I normally spin during the bad weather days. I agree this helps endurance and strength. More importantly don't cheat during spin class. Have fun and enjoy, either inside or outside.
