  1. You can also find a lot of good stuff on YouTube. I particularly like Michio Kaku:

    Dr. Brian Cox:

And this YouTube contributer (Zuke696) has just about everything and everyone in his/her playlist, including lots of Sagan:

There's even an original video of Einstein explaining E=MC squared, one of my favorites to share with beginners who might be intimitated. (not that you would be;)  I also just like hearing him talk, what a character he was!:

  2. You can get Cosmos on DVD these days.  It was updated in something like 1995 with some HST pictures.  Sagan is the undisputed master.  He made it look easy.  And he was generally correct even when he went out on a limb at the time.

There's a Nova episode, with an interview with Feynman.  I'm sure you'll like it if you can find a copy.  Sorry, all i could find were links to the book.

The Planets from A&E is interesting.

If you really want hard core, go with Alex Filippenko's What's New in Astronomy, 2003.  I've seen it three times - and it's 24 hours.

My astronomy club has these things in their library.  Maybe your local astronomy club has similar material.  Maybe your town's library has some good stuff.

There's also The Universe, from the History Channel.  A few of the graphics are overdone, but overall, not bad.  There's a link in the lower right of the page my link gets you to.  Unfortunately, i've not gotten a chance to see their "Beyond the Big Bang".

  3. The History channel has a series named "The Universe". I've seen several episodes, very interesting. I don't know how many were made or if they are still making them.
