Are there any side effects caused by air conditioning?

Question

Can anyone tell me any side effects or ailments that air conditioning in an office may cause to people working in there? I know it's good to have in hot weather, but I'm sure it can't be good for you if you are constantly exposed.

I'm asking because because they have it on in my office all day, even when it's not hot! Grrr

They say no but I think it makes you cold lol No seriously I think it can give you headaches, the type used in the car systems seems fine for some reason.

IIRC the only thing bad about air conditioning is that it can spread dangerous germs when serving a large number of people I.e MRSA or Legionnaires Disease... I'm reasonably sure i read that somewhere.

I always end up with the sniffles if I am exposed to air conditioning for too long also a very sore dry throat

depends on the quaility of air it is pumping in.

air conditioning caused me headaches,sometimes pain in my bones specially my legs and knees.But sometimes strong air conditioning is like having a mask of oxygen in your face and help you not to get dizzy when the weather is really hot.But if they have it all day,you can ask to lower a Little.

It can dry out your nasal passages.  As far as I know it doesn't cause any serious effects.
