  1. They can if you don't look after them properly and let bacteria get into them, that can make you go blind.

So just look after them properly and you should be fine :)

  2. Yes and No.  If you nice to your eyes and remove the lenses at night and replace the old ones on schedule there should be no problems. Your eye doc will do some tests to make sure that you are a good candidate for contacts, but millions of people are wearing them without problems.

I personally had trouble finding a brand that was comfortable but the new materials out there make them more comfortable than ever.

  3. Yes surely there is some side effects of wearing contacts for a longer period of time, no matter how properly you keep them, how clean they are and how properly they fit and even if they do not hurt you or causes any type of irriation, they have a side effect that they can change the normal shape of your retine ( eye part which enables us to see and focuses light). So, for a longer run, it is much better to use your eye glasses instead of using contacts.

    Best of Luck

    Katherine :)

  4. Not if you keep them clean, they fit right and you remove/replace them when you are supposed to.   Good luck.  Pops

  5. No they dont make you go blind. You have to keep them clean (follow directions on solutions or directions of eye doctor). Also use contact rewetting drops throughout the day. And take them out EVERY night! Dont sleep with them on. And do not open your eyes under water with them on.

  6. yes. in long term, the eyes will become dry

  7. I know one person who was wearing soft contacts and walked through a part of the building where there were strong chemicals and the contacts fused to her eyes and had to be surgically removed causing a permanent impairment to her sight.

I know of another case where someone fell asleep wearing the kind you are not supposed to sleep with and again there was permanent damage.

I tried the hard contacts and never got used to them.  I wanted to scratch the skin from my face they itched so badly.
