Are there any similar programs to Civil Air Patrol for older youth (19+)?

I would have loved to work with CAP when I was younger. Now, I'm too old. Is there a program similar (doesn't even have to work with planes-just S&R, ect.) to CAP that isn't ROTC or National Guards, and trains you well?

  1. Civil Air Patrol isn't just for youth. The cadet program is for youth 12-18 however they have even more adult members than youth. This would be the senior member or officer side. You can join as a senior member/officer at age 18 and stay until you die if you'd like. Obviously as an adult there are even more opportunities since age won't restrict your participation in some activities. Go to www.CAP.gov and look around. You can request more information and even look up a local squadron to go and visit. If you have more than one nearby, go to several and join when you find the one most comfortable for you.

  2. How is that related to SPECIAL ED programs for students with DISABILITIES?
