  1. i would think there would be many similarity's between the written USA constitution and our unwritten one.

  2. Expanding on Daniel R's points, both systems are bicameral.  In this, they require on the unanimous agreement of the three main institutions: the Commons/Representatives, the Lords/Senate, and the Monarch/President.  In some rare circumstances, however, the Commons can override the Lords' veto and make Bills law nonetheless.

  3. There are lots of differences between the two countries' constitutions - chiefly the fact that the US has an actual document called the constitution, whereas the UK's is collected in a series of laws, treaties, judgments and customs - but there are also lots of similarities.

One thing that springs to mind is that they are both based on the common law system. That is, judges take into account past judgments and historical practice as well as actual written legislation when deciding what the law should be. This is in contrast to the situation in countries such as France, where the law is decided almost entirely on the basis of the judicial code.

Other areas have greater differences. One example is that under the US system, the constitution itself is supreme, laws can be set aside if they are judged unconstitutional, and the constitution can only be amended with great difficulty. In the UK, constitutional laws have no particular significance and can be abolished or amended in exactly the same way as any other law. Parliament is supreme, and can pass any law it wants.

  4. We don't have a constitution.

  5. hope not as us covered up domolition of twin towers on 9/11

  6. The UK does not have a written constitution. Law is based on precedence and common law rulings, amongst others.

The US Constitution was originally a noble document sadly now bastardized by the NRA to justify their dubious right to carry guns.
