I am a teacher and we are temporarily housed in a crappy building. I will not be bringing my refrigerator or microwave. I am a diabetic. I will need meals that doesn't require being refrigerated or microwaved.

  1. I would say bring money, i realize this could be costly, but may be your best bet currently

  2. Low carb/low fat meals at subway are an option for dinner, try to avoid the creamy sauces, and load it with veggies.

  3. You dont say if you're type 1 or 2, so forgive me if this doesn't help you.  My daughter is type 1 and here are some filling things we bring when we're on a day trip:

Peanut butter & Jelly (45 carbs)

    peanut butter crackers (6 each)

    cheezits (25 = 15 carbs)

peanuts (as much as she can eat is around 6 carbs)

    gold fish crackers (45 = 15 carbs)

ham & cheese sandwich (30 carbs)  Sometimes she likes just eating the ham and cheese right out of a sandwich bag (0 carbs).

    Nilla wafers (8 = 21 carbs)

We always bring a juice box or frosting for an emergency, and water in case she's running a little high.
