  1. No. Speed Limits are not that detailed. In fact, whatever the safe speed was calculated as, they tend to use a posted speed limit about 10km or 5-10 miles less. It's to account for the fact that people are naturally going to drive faster than the posted speed.

More detail would only make it more difficult for people to instantly recognize the number resulting in more accidents rather than less, as well as make the signs more expensive (custom cost more), and slower to deliver (they are bound to have some 80's in supply but not an 82).

  2. Yes. There is a freeway in Germany where you may drive at whatever speed you please.

  3. Yes!  The disneyland parking area in Anaheim, CA has a posted speed limit of 14 mph.  Weird, right?  So I got to thinking...why would they do that?

I don't have a REAL answer but my best guess is it's for insurance purposes.  Posting below 15 mph probably lowers their liability insurance premiums but 10 mph was too slow - so voila!

    14mph.

  4. yes, when a womans mood swing comes. It goes to 99.9 very quickly lol x

  5. Well I have never seen one, and I think it's like that to standardize street signs, so they calculate the safest speed for a road and round it to the nearest number.

  6. Tropicanna's parking lot in Atlantic City has a speed limit of 9.

  7. I was somewhere the other day but I can't remember where and the speed limit was 7. I think it was a parking lot or something. I remember thinking 7? Why don't they just make it 5 or 10.
