Are there any stations that currently (or will soon) broadcast in 1080p?

Whether it be satellite, cable, whatever--I've read reports that there is no 1080p content on television but that was from over a year ago; has this changed--or is it likely to change in the future? Buying a set and want to know whether its worth it. Will probly go 1080p for the blu-ray benefit alone but would like to know about broadcast tv before deciding. thanks

  1. There are absolutely no plans for 1080P TV. It uses twice the bandwidth of 1080i or 720P.

You're not going to see 1080P TV for years, if ever.

If you're getting a set larger than 40 inches, considerr 1080P for upscaling DVDs, Blu-ray and games. Larger than 50 inches, definitely get 1080P.Smaller sets, don't bother, unless the cost difference is minor.

Resolutions higher than 1080P will be coming along, but again, not for TV.
