  1. don't be fooled, all I had was one single bump and it didnt hurt but i went to get it checked anyways. The OB didnt even think it was herpes but he did a swab anyways and to our suprise it came back positive for herpes. Go get checked.

  2. Honestly, and without seeing it, this sounds like a folliculitis - inflammation of a hair follicle (especially possible if you shave).  The likely hood of having a single herpetic lesion is slim - and it has a distinct appearance, called a vesicle, in which there is a small amount of fluid under it.

Herpes usually has clustered lesions (google pictures and you'll see).

Syphiliis starts out with a primary lesion called a chancre which is rather large in most cases, and it just doesn't seem like it fits with what you are saying.

It doesn't sound like an STD, and the absence of any burning when you pee or discharge would also support that.

It sounds like there is some question in your mind though - I would recommend getting checked out for STDs for your own piece of mind and the safety of your partner.  It's nearly impossible to make a 100% diagnosis based on this information alone.  Best of luck, I hope this was helpful to you!
