  1. The short answer: yes, you can take the GED and be successful, especially if you use it to get into college.

Personally, I graduated from high school, but after that I first went to junior (community) college before transferring to state university to get a Bachelor's degree. Much later, I went back to school at night while working to get an MBA. Actually, I was also working the whole time I was going to school for my undergraduate degree. You could potentially follow a similar path academically, starting with a GED.

I now work for a bank making construction loans. But I've run into a fair number of people who are self-made, hard-working people who got a GED and progressed from there.  People find themselves needing to get a GED in lieu of a high school diploma for a variety of reasons, but the main thing to keep in mind is that this does not need to be a limiting factor in your life.

Once you've graduated from college and have work experience, no one cares or even asks if you have a high school diploma or a GED.  It doesn't matter at that point.

The biggest indicator of success is your level of ambition and drive.  Nothing else matters nearly as much.  Get the GED and keep moving forward - good luck to you.

  2. Um....certainly more successful than someone who didn't. Do you mean successful or famous? Successful by what standards? Millionaires, or good providers?

  3. This is a no brainer.  100% get the G.E.D & go to college.  Once you complete college, people don't care where you went to high school or GED, rather where you went to college (internships, clubs, volunteer work, etc).  Take this test and begin your life to pursue a real career with more doors wide open!  G'luck!

  4. Of course there 're countless of people who have earned G.E.D and then went to college to further their education. 99% of colleges require H.D or G.E.D.
