Are there any supersport motorcycles that you can ride for more than an hour?

I was just wondering. Anyone I've ever talked to said they had to stop riding after a few hours because it was so uncomfortable that they couldn't stand it. Are Ducati bikes the same way?

  1. Sure.  It's what you are used to.  Bodies adapt.

Are folks more prone to get ultra comfortable bikes for long trip?  Sure, that's why there are touring class and Sport Touring bikes.

Rode my Buell XB9R Firebolt 1500 miles in 2 days from Dallas to Miami.  Not the bike of choice, but certainly good for the task, and most of the time, a great trip.

Still in 24 hours, I couldn't do more than about 825 miles.

My new Touring Victory, I put 930 miles on it in 16 hours, and if I had a way to certify it, I would have done the last 70 in the last 8 hours just to get an "Iron Butt".   The touring machine made all the difference in making the long miles much more comfortable.

Like the Buell to the Victory, every bike is different.  Get one that makes you smile, and increases your blood pressure because you like its' looks so much, you will be glad you did.  Ducati, Honda, Victory, Buell, Harley, whatever...  if it's got two wheels, it's good!

  2. I've got a "hyper-sport" and it's quite comfy for long hauls, I've done 8 hours with no discomfort (aside from windburn cause I don't wear gloves)

    CBR1100XX

    (zx-14, and hayabusa are similar)
