What about their self esteem? My teacher does this to me! It's because I'm ugly! But I can't help it! It's not like I want to be ugly and mistreated!

  1. yes I know a highschool teacher that really likes his Chinese female students - too much if you get what I mean.  He phones them at home and sends them presents

  2. If that's the case you have to be the star thru your smarts and confidence.  Don't let the naysayers bring you down b/c it's not worth it.

  3. IF THERE ARE TEACHERS OUT THERE DOING THIS AND READING THIS--you should have your license revoked.  YOU are a professional getting paid to instruct and assess according to performance on specified tasks, NOT ON LOOKS.

  4. yea, in studying to be a teacher i read an article that some teachers, even if they don't mean to, are biased based on their own preferences. i know that some do it outright but it took reading that article for me to realize that it really does happen.

it's natural to be drawn to ppl you think are attractive. like students might prefer an attractive teacher and rate him/her as a better teacher than an ugly one.

from a teacher's point of view, if your teacher is doing this and isn't aware (and it's possible it's not true unless he or she has actually told you that they think you're ugly) then have some friendly conversation. developing a relationship can go a long way toward looking past the superficial stuff.

  5. nope

  6. I certainly don't do this, but you should know that students do the same thing to teachers.  Attractive teachers can get away with lousy teaching and get great teaching evaluations, while less attractive ones are often assumed to be mean, unfair, and boring.
