Question:

Are there any temporary teaching programs for Chinese citizens in America?

I have a friend in China who is looking for opportunities to teach in the United States. I know that programs exist for a variety of languages where a native speaker is able to come to the U.S. to teach for a specified number of years (as a real teacher or teaching assistant).

Do you know any such programs for Chinese? It's a valued language that is not taught enough, and I know some exist for Japanese, so I feel like there should be some for Chinese...

Yes, I asked a similar question recently, but there were too many comments simply stating that "it's difficult for Chinese to get to the U.S." I realize this, but I'd appreciate it if people could only provide relevant and helpful information.

  1. No, there are a lot of jobs if u see at the internet, but but the most important thing is the Visa, is so difficult, first the positions are available for asian american and is so difficult for any company or organization to be an sponsor.

Don waiste u time calling and sending u CV, here in United States are a lot a lot of chinese american citizen who speak fluent chinese and english and for sure we dont need to hire abroad any teacher ($$$)

  2. There is a very large Chinese community in the U.S.

Many have also been immigrating to Canada.

We have plenty who have also had the benefit of higher education here that hold some pretty sensitive govt. positions.(That, I do take issue with as national security has been shown to be compromised on numerous occassions)

All countries have agents gathering info.-nothing new there.

Translators & teachers should have no problem finding work, as long as their govt. allows them to do so & ours okays entry.

this country is a melting pot of ALL countries & cultures.that's what makes it great & diverse.

  3. Whether your friend speaks Cantonese or Mandarian-there are opportunities...especially if both are spoken and the speaker is fluent in English as well.
