Are there any tips on how to not have the car jerk when you push the gas?

I am just starting to drive today, i will be doing behind the wheel training, but i don't like how the car jerks if you push the gas down too hard.. it's so sensitive! i don't know how to fix the way i do it.

  1. Put an egg between your foot and the gas pedal.  


  2. You're not on a racetrack, so you don't have to accelerate so hard... But I think all new drivers do this when they are starting out, (I know I did) you just have to get used to the feel of the car..

    Take it out a few times before the test and practice :)

  4. Well if you're just starting driving, you probably haven't mastered it yet.

    Pushing hard AT ALL is going to cause the car to jump ahead, especially if the vehicle you're learning in has a decent amount of horsepower/torque.

    All you can do is be very very gentile on the gas in order to get a smooth take off.

  5. That will happen with front wheel drives. There is not a fix. If it is that bad you can get a rear wheel drive.
