  1. Not directly.  if you are near it, you can take the Staten Island Transit to St George,  get the Ferry to South Ferry.  There take the #1 IRT train (the Braoday local to 34 Street (Penn Station.)  In Penn Station find the Long  Island Railroad and they have trains to Bay Shore.

Since Bay Shore is just past Babylon, the last stop on the hourly electric communter service, depending up on when you

go, you might check the Suffolk County Bus service from the Babylon Station to Bay Shore.

    all of the Long Island

Railorad time tables are on the site.  it is a long trip (even by car)  good luck

  2. Unfortunately, no.

Staten Island is effectively isolated from the rest of the world when it comes to passenger rail service.

To get to Bay Shore on Long Island, you have to get to Penn Station in Manhattan and take the Long Island Railroad from there.

So you need to hop on the Staten Island Ferry to get to Manhattan, then take the West Side IRT subway from South Ferry to 34th Street (Penn Station), and take the LIRR from there.

Hope this helps, and good luck.

  3. I have looked at both the Amtrak site and the excellent Man in seat 61 site for your query but I am afraid I have drawn a blank.  The previous answer is correct.

  4. thddspc's answer is correct but I want to clarify one thing.

For most people these days the Westside IRT is known as the #1 train.  The entrance to the South Ferry subway station is on the ground level of the SI Ferry Terminal.
