I have to memorize a gigantic list of polyatomic ions for AP chem and to be honest I don't think I can do it. Is there any tips or tricks? The hardest part is remembering the charges.

  1. Bast thing to do is try memorizing the ions (nitrate, nitrite, sulfate, sulfite, carbonate, phisphate, oxalate, bicarbonate, cyanide, thiocyanide and permanganate).  Try these first and learn to write fromulas for coumpounds of the iosn with Group 1 metals (+1  sodium etc, along with ammonmium NH4+), group 2 metals, aluminum .  Then go to the other ions, just spend 30-45 minutes a dya for a week and you should be fine
