  1. No the rule of thumb for turtle tanks is you need 10 gallons per inch of the turtle. So if you have a 3 inch turtle you need a 30 gallon tank. So the only way you could get a turtle that would fit in a 10 gallon tank is if its only 1 inch. Hope I helped!

  2. you can keep it in there till it shell reaches 2 inches.

  3. NO don't waste your money buying a turtle. They grow to fast. Aquatic turtles can grow to 12" and need lots of watert to swim and fish to eat.

    Get a frog or 2 for a 10 gallon.

Did you know that they need to bask under a reptile light UVA/UVB for  8 to 10 hrs a day for the vitamin D that  they need to grow. So that means getting a turtle dock also.

Leave the heater on 75 to 78 degrees always.

Their water needs to be clean otherwise they get sick easily from dirty water cause they p**p allot.

You need a good filter system!

You need to feed them feeder guppies, goldfish or minnows for protein and calcium daily drop 20 or so in the tanks and watch them disappear! This way when they swim for their dinner they get exercise also!

They need leafy greens( Romaine, Butter lettuce. Iceberg and cabbage are bad for them, any leafy greens will do) for vitamins at least 3 to 4 times a week.

And a big tank 55 gallons or more..

  4. I wouldn't suggest it for any breed. I would say that 20-25 is the smallest tank you can get for the smallest turtle you can find. They need room to grow and swim about. Obviously, the bigger the turtle the bigger the tank. Keep in mind that your baby turtle will grow up and if it out grows the tank you will have to spend more money on buying a new one, so I would suggest getting the biggest one you can afford so that if you decide to get something bigger or they grow bigger than you expected you don't have to spend that extra money on getting something bigger! 5. Well... You can keep a baby water turtle (Like a Red Eared Slider or a River Cooter) in a 10, but only for a few months.
