There are plenty of alternatives available for leather. Now I am looking for vegan alternatives to wool to keep warm in the winter months?

  1. hemp

  2. There are probably many alternatives but none are as satisfactory as leather or wool.

  3. There are a lot of companies that use all synthetic fibers in sweaters that will keep you cozy.  I have found that Old Navy, after picking through wool and angora does have sweaters in the winter months.  Also try NY&Co.

And yes, hemp can keep you quite warm as well:

  4. if you or someone you know is a knitter, there are bamboo yarns and soy yarns now, along with cotton and silk yarns.

update:  sorry, it occurred to me later that silk may not be vegan.

Bernat makes a cotton and corn blend yarn: http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=co...

    and a bamboo yarn http://www.bernat.com/product.php?LGC=ba...

Bernat prices are usually pretty reasonable, too

I prefer to stay away from acrylics, they don't breathe

  5. I have some nice acrylic cotton sweaters.

  6. There are so many different things that you can wear that are just as warm.  I have never warn wool in my entire life and I never once froze to death.

  7. polar fleece is made from recycled materials

Very very warm, and very very comfortable

  8. There are alternatives to wool. For the sake of those intelligent, feeling sheep, please don't think wool - think cotton or synthetics instead
