Are there any vegetarian japanese food?

(i'm looking for something without fish or chicken in it i should have been more specific)

  2. There are lots of sushi rolls that have no fish in it. Veggie sushi is becoming as popular as fish sushi.

    Japan is a Buddhist country so there are many veggie options.

    Beans and bean paste is probably the most common item. That or miso soup. Miso soup is eaten at every meal for some Japanese.

    Tofu can be made into over 1,000 dishes, most of them veggie.

    Cucumber salads are popular and have a lot of variations.

    If you don't mind eating eggs, try "Okonomi Yaki", a delicious vegetable pancake.

    There are hundreds of Japanese vegetarian soups. Kelp is a common stock.

    Stuffed cabbage is popular.

    Just about any vegetable can be chopped up and served as a salad. There are some delicious salad dressings, such as soy sesame and ginger orange.

    Buckwheat noodles (udon) can be found in hundreds of dishes, though there are many other noodles. Trying all the Japanese noodles is a pleasure. Curry rice noodles is especially nice.

    There's also vegetable tempura. Of them potato is my favorite.
