Are there any waves in the us gulf? to surf?

are there any waves in the gulf i want to no to bring my board to mississippi wit me so ya there any? how warm is the water too?

it really depends on the climate. i suppose about 40-60 degrees. try the left of the waves

This page didn't even have Mississippi on the list of surf spots :(  Those in the surf culture know MS isn't such a hot spot for even decent swells.

Even though its burning hot now, the water this time of year in the Gulf is below 80 degrees.  Not bad.

Only if there's a storm. Not enough winds to create high waves, and the Gulf is fairly shallow compared to most of the seas and oceans of the world. You're pretty much out of luck.  Water is very nice, should be around the 80 mark, perhaps a bit more.

No, there aren't many waves (unless a hurricane comes through). Skimboarding is popular on the gulf.

The water is as warm as bathwater right now. It's gross.

There are plenty of waves on the Gulf but not much in Mississippi unless there is a swell.  The outer islands block most wave action near Gulfport.  Also, the waves break a little different then other places since they are mostly short period wind swell generated.  Many waves are close in peaky waves that jump up quickly.  Depending on where you live, you can drive east to fairly decent breaks.  From Pensacola east there are many breaks.

Ship Island had some decent waves and nice water, about 80°... But you have to take a boat to the island and pay...  Now, these aren't California waves, mind you, but I'm pretty sure you could surf them...  It's about 10-15 miles from Gulfport...  Go online and lookup Ship Island Excursions

In Mississippi?  Good luck.  We have barrier islands, so our waves usually don't get more than 4 feet high.

You could try the southern sides of the barriers.  There's a charter out of Gulfport Harbor, smack in the center of the coast, that runs to Ship Island.  You'll have to walk to the other side, but it's alright- they've got a boardwalk.  Even there, though, the waves generally aren't more than 6 feet... and that's just before a storm rolls in.

The water's usually pretty good around this time of the year.  Might be a little nippy, but it should be fairly comfortable.

My recommendation, though, would be to bring just a skim board (lots of great sandbars!) or a boogie board.  There is no way you're going to ride these things.

Hit it for the hurricanes if your experienced. The Gulf is pretty flat for the most part though.
