  1. Regular (daily) s*x with vaginal ejaculation can help ripen the cervix due to the prostaglandins in s***n.

Walking (contrary to another post) can in fact ripen the cervix due to the fact that it can also stimulate the release of prostaglandins.

A technique called the belly lift technique can stimulate labor by centering the baby's head more fully on the cervix, causing cervical irritation which can also stimulate the release of prostaglandins.

There are some tonics which claim to enhance cervical ripening and uterine toning. Some studies have shown them more effective than placebo.

Black and blue cohosh have been used by midwives for a long time to induce labor, as has castor oil. These can bring on labor immediately, and if too high a dose is used, can cause contractions that are too strong. It's best not to use them without the guidance of a medical practitioner.

As another poster mentioned, do not try any techniques before 37 weeks. Not only is there a risk to the baby, but the baby will be considered preterm, and subjected to a lot of tests and procedures, none of which will feel good.

  2. how far along are you?

i wouldnt try to go into labour if your under 37 weeks kuz his lungs might not be fully developed.

but walking lots exspecially in hot weather helped its hard when your pregnant kuz being hot bothers most pregnant woman but it helped me alot i went in to labour a couple times but it stoped after i would let myself rest

  3. You should be careful with the pressure points, i suggest going to see a professional before attempting anything like this.

I am also trying rasberry leaf tea and the rasberry leaf tea tablets. These are supposed to facilitate birth, prepare the uterus for birth/ contractions etc and it also helps after the birth by assisting the shrinking of the uterus. Its just a suggestion, Good luck

  4. I would seriously hope at 35 weeks, you wouldn't consider trying ANYTHING!

I'm a firm believer that baby will come when baby wants, not when it's handy for mom (or family members keen to meet the baby)

As you can see, I'm also 35+ weeks, and I hate pregnancy. But I'm not self-inducing. Plus there's not guarantee it works anyway.

  5. Well you asked a question 1 day ago and you was 35 weeks I would wait.

  6. Have s*x, s*x and more s*x..then get him to rub your feet and ankles!..Then have more s*x..worked for me both times! =)

Ok you can get up and walk too..LOL Just have fun, your baby won't stay in forever!

    Good Luck!

  7. Have s*x! Actually, the evidence supports having s*x as well as acupuncture. There is no evidence to support walking, housework, yoga, meditation, rubbing any herbs on your belly, lighting candles or applying heat. But that's not to say those things can't be fun and rewarding.

Don't worry. All pregnancies end eventually.

  8. most asked question ever in the history of mankind...

ask your mother how she delivered, she is your trace in history... you may act like her, so you can be inspired by her ways.

40th week?! clean the house by hand, take a walk each 2 hours, drink enough so your body do not require too much when it's time...

  9. s*x

    walking around a lot

i've heard drinking castor oil, but i wouldn't unless you don't mind diarhea. some people swear by it though.

  10. raspberry leaf tea, worked like a charm both times for me, my labour started in a few days of drinking it daily about 4 cups a day and both labours were in less than a hour from 1 CM too pushing! as it makes your uterus strong so contractions work better!

i was recommended this by my midwife and i myself am now a fully fledged midwife and i recommend my ladies that are over due too get drinking!

give it ago! but only if you are close or over your due date

  11. It's very dangerous for you to try to induce labor on your own. If you want to have him NOW, then you should ask your doctor so that he/she can make sure that the baby's lungs are mature and stuff. Babies born before 37 weeks are already considered premature, which means that you  probally won't even be able to see him soon after wards anyway. Just ask your doctor first. I'm sure that you want your baby to be healthy and full grown.

    Congratulations and Good Luck!
