Are there any weapons out there that could cause an implosion?

  1. no, not possible.

    implosions require a vacuum chamber that is then broken. An example is if you drop a CRT tube.

    The power in an implosion is small compared to an explosion, the damage is small, and they are large and heavy, so there is no reason that a weapon would be developed using it.

    To the other answer, the explosion used to initiate a nuclear explosion is a shaped charge explosion, with the charges pushing the uranium components inwards. While they are doing that, the other side of the explosion is pushing the casing of the bomb outwards. This is not an implosion.

  2. First you must consider what an implosion is. It's performed from "a boundary" inwards, right? Nuclear weapons work with an implosion on it's first stage that will latter trigger the atomic chain-reaction explosion!
