  1. Hi Jay,

    There will be a box that a cable from the dish connects to. There will be a cable from that box to your TV.

    If you add any additional devices like DVR's, DVD's etc they will require additional cables.

  2. Similiar to a cable box.  Number depends on homw many other pcs of equipment ex: dvd, vcr audio etc.
