Are there are any household products to lower the bromine levels in a hot tub?

Ok so lets say I need to lower the bromine levels in the tub in a hurry (say under an hour), is there anything I can add to neutralize the levels so my skin doesn't burn? My housemate peed in it one time and that seemed to work but I'd like a better alternative for obvious reasons...

  1. The others are correct in diluting the water.  The chemical you can pick up at any Store that carries BioguarBio guarduaspa Pool/Spa chemicals is Sodium Thiosulfate.  It will neutralize Chlorine and Bromine.  There's no household chemical.  Your skin is most likely itching due to improper pH levels.

  2. go to your pool place i think there is neutralizer out there

  3. drain half the water out

  4. the best way to lower the concentration of ANY chemical in your pool/spa, is DILUTION.  Grab a big bucket, and fill it up a few times.  dump it into the toilet (if hauling water outside isn't an option).

put a hose in it and refill.  Honestly, this is the QUICKEST way to do it.
