I work at a library and we have had books in boxes for a little more that half a year. A few people have told me that there are bugs that attacked or eat books that have in boxes for a long period of time. Now that people tell me that, i can't stop itching. Is it true or an i just paranoid.

  1. In olden days, books used to get bugs that ate the paper.  They were a larva or worm, hence the term book worm.  I don't think they live in our sterile environments, but if the book where up in the attic for a few years they may have some bugs.  Either way, they don't bite humans!  Luckily you are just being paranoid.

  3. silverfish like to eat old paper.  I've seen them in boxes of books or papers kept too long in a basement or garage.  they're harmless to people, though.
