Are there cats in newton food centre?

i've heard that newton food centre is one of the best places to get local cuisine. unfortunately i've got a phobia for cats and have noticed that they are many stray cats in singapore and have seen them in numerous hawker centres. will love to try out their food but won't be able to take it if cats are ard. pls help!

Since they revamp the place its seems much cleaner and have not seen any cats so far.
