Are there certain kinds of people/riders that gravitate towards certain model Harleys?

purist prefer softails? are you nuts? we prefer ol school choppers!!!!  no front brake or fender,ridgid frame,open primary,sucide shift,and a kickstart. no turn signals either. just a frame ,motor,tranny,and front end.

I don't think so,  I really think that people buy bikes based on how they plan on riding. When I was young and single, I rode around on a sporty,  Now that I am married and do alot of long distance trips, I ride a RK,  I did ride a dyna for a while which was fun for around town and for day trips but it wasn't that great on over night trips out of state.

I have always rode Choppers  Just what I came up on in the 60s & 70s

Now I ride what looks like a 76 Shovel about all thats Harley is the gas caps

To be honest im looking for a hard tail frame to put it in Prob jockey shift but with a dual clutch to many traffic lights on hills  around here

Chicks and g*y guys go for sportsters, g*y guys on every other Harley.  And HD4me will ride anything with facial hair.

when I ask beginners why did they choose a HD as their first bike they all give me the exact same answer

their answer is: "Because everybody else owns one"

I strongly believe people buy a HD cause they wanta be someone they are not, they put image over substance

Yes, it is proven...sportsters-chicks, fat boys-austrians with sawed off shotguns, road kings-fat guys with many HD t -shirts, and stretch marks.

Old guys on baggers.

Guys who NEVER wave are on the ones with a super wide ferring with the short windshield.

Dirtbags on ratty looking sportsters.

Chicks on super low sportsters.

Young guys who seem to think their bike is acutally fast on sportsters.

Rubs on about anything new, but you can tell them from their brand new harley clothes, head to foot.

Newly divorced guys on Vrods.

I have always preferred the older bikes unless I am going on a long ride then I prefer the Electra Glides. For around town, I like the old school rigids with foot clutch and jockey shift
