It depends on what kind you have. If it's a special table perhaps. You're best bet would be to check locally. Unfortunately shipping is more than most tables are worth.

better off with private sale if to a store sell outright its gets messed up its theirs

Find a furniture consignment store.  I sold mine in six seeks.

Work through the details of how much commission they will take and who has the responsibility to have the table disassembled and put together on their property.

An alternative is to look for auction sites in your local area (look on web, yellow pages, etc)  

My experience was consignment store  35% commission

Set and moving fee $400

Sold 9' table for about $2,500 or so
