Are there cruises out there based on specific age groups??

Question

A friend of mine and I would like to go on a cruise to a few different countries but would like one that is based on our age group so we can mix and party with people around our age.

We are 21 year old Australian girls.

Planning to travel around the dates of 29th Dec/ Jan (or whenever)

Really would just like to know if specific age group cruises exist to start with

There are definitely cruises that cater to younger people.  In general, the less-expensive options are more popular.

easyCruise is definitely the top 20-something option if you want to island hop around the Med.

I've also heard good things about Ocean Village as a European cruise for younger people.

In the Caribbean, Carnival or RCI should be good but stick to 7-day and shorter cruises: The longer the cruise, the more likely people are to be retired.

A two-week cruise is a lot of vacation time for Americans (the main group in the Caribbean) who are still working, and month-long "grand voyages" are almost impossible unless you're retired (or on that post-IPO sabbatical).

Weekend cruises are especially popular among people with an appetite for fun but limited vacation time.

If you go around the end of the year, be aware there will be lots of families onboard, since that's prime school holiday season.

Most cruises will have a variety of different age groups on board. However...Carnival Cruises have a lot of young people your age. The Carnival boats are known as the "party" boats. Its really fun...especially around the summer time and spring time when all the college kids are on break. But you will find people your age on those boats all year round. All the other cruise lines only have young people onboard during the summer. So unless your going in the summer time stick to Carnival. Hope this helps and enjoy your trip!
