Are there customised FPS games I can make?

Question

What I mean is that I want to use a already made FPS game (Like Halo) and basically make my own map for it. What I want really is a game with it's own Map Editor, much like the one in Warcraft III.

P.S if anyone has tried FPS Creator, is it any good?

FPS Creator is good for creating simple, almost old-school style FPS Games, however through the scripting language provided with it you can enhance your own games using your own modules etc.

The interface is pretty simple and easy to use, almost drag-n-drop like.

You can even use it to create Multiplayer Games so you and your friends can play against each other, however I havn't tried this, plus your friends would need a copy of the game you create aswell obviously.

If you have Windows Vista and a DirectX 10 capable Graphics Card you can use FPS Creator X10, it's almost exactly the same as FPS Ceator apart from improvements in Graphics, AI etc.

Ever played Return to Castle Wolfenstein?

well they made a free online multiplayer version called Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. You can jump on any server, and play any custom maps that other players made, or you can go to the website and download a map developer and make your own.

However, you need a pretty fast gaming machine to use the map developer well, plus there are other requirements and limits that you will encounter as well.
