Are there differences between the human races?

Is there a difference between the intelligence of the human races? I ask this out of a random interest as it is clear there are physiological differences which make some races faster, stronger, taller etc than others. So is there a difference in intelligence between the human races?

check the IQ of any twins if they are the same.

if any of them is the same, the answer is yes but, if they are all not the same, the answer is a big NO.

meaning there are no difference between race but     there are difference between every two individuals irrespective of race depending on one's resources.

AS far as intelligence goes, I dont think that there is one race "smarter" than another. It has to do with teaching and learning.

If someone is dumb enough to think that say,  whites are smarter than other races, there were a WHOLE LOT of idiot whites running around as peasants in the middle ages.

There are brilliant thinkers of all races and we owe alot to our advancment as the human race to all of them.

The Mitochondria in the Female Human Genetic make-up is such that there is no difference between the first Female and the today's Female any-where.

Males do not carry this genetic particle, and that makes the Male 'random' in it's make-up.

I dont think so because God created different creatures and human beings are one of them. There are differences between different creatures but all human beings are alike. We the people search those differences. You will find people with different thinking, customs etc. but from inside they have common thinking power, their form etc. It depends on them how they utilize it.

People share a lot of things, but a race is not one of them one. The reason for that is because people grow up in different climatic belts, and over some time it accumulates in a completely different look. Either that, or we were all brought here on this planet by the alliens, and they are currantly experimenting on us.....

I would imagine that by now almost everyone is aware that scientists have mapped the human genome.

We used to divide various versions of our species into three main races. Since mapping was completed this is no longer valid.

There is one race on the planet, the Human Race. We call ourselves Homo Sapiens Sapiens.

Yes! This means the whitest southern bigot and we still have some and the blackest African are members of the same race.

This has to rough on folks who just invested in a bunch of new white sheets and pointy hats, huh?

It's my opinion that certain CULTURES dumb down the peoples in many ways, though.  For example, many superstitions hamstring and cripple thought.

There are some differences in AVERAGES, which isn't the same, but these are due to malnurishment and other environmental factors.

All the people who claim there are differences are either deluded or lying.

Well, yes, to some degree... however skin color has nothing to do with it.  West & South Africans tend to have lower I.Q.s & some countries in West Africa average less than an IQ of 70.  East Africans tend to be closer to the Norm.  This "may" be due to haplogroup L1 (DNA) being the least evolved of all human DNA groups. I perfer "not" to define race by skin color as one could be very black, but due to DNA haplogroup have an enhanced level of intelligence and very Asian or  European looking & have a depressed level of intelligence.

Certainly humans also inherit genes for height, strength & endurance.  West Africans tend to be the better sprinters while East Africans are poor sprinters but good endurance runners. Europeans tend to fall somewhere in the middle, but are better weight lifters. (we need a much larger data base to continue gene identification but have made some significant break throughs.)

I know I an treading on politically correct "bad ground" but you asked & I gave you a truthful answer.  Do a google on human migration & you will find Haplogroups L1, L2 & L3 remained in while Haplogroup N moved into the Mid East & evolved there to produce the rest of Humanity... we suspect L3 became N.

Anthropology is a social science & therefore subject to political pressure & subjective analysis, whereby genetics & DNA are scientific fields based upon objective evidence & therefore less affected by political views.  Chuckle, if Anthropology was objective, they'd have already thrown out the regional theory of human evolution as all evidence points to an "out of Africa" migration that did mix with at least one other species of ancient Homo. I included a link with an objective & scientific analysis of human migration & many others are available... a fight between science & the politically correct is brewing.

We are all human.   The only difference is our colour and the way we look.   However, there is no real proof that there is a superior race.   The ancient Eyptians were a dark race, and the early Sumerians were a wheat coloured race - and of course the early Chinese were yellow, and the early Indus Valley inhabitants were Dravidian, dark brown.   If they were inferior, how did they buid up the first ancient civilizations?  Climate and the Ice Age has made Scandinavians blue eyed and taller.   You find that Europeans because of climate have more meat [in the early days especially] in their diet and so are genetically bigger and taller.   Asians tend to have more wheat and rice in their diet, with meat just a side dish.   Long winters vs long eternal summers [in the east] means that skin colour is also affected.   But if you ask me :  all men are of equal intelligence.   However, an environment that prevents a person from becoming educated or is at civil war for generations will not allow the genius of a race to rise up.  

That's why in America, people from different races, given the opportunity to study, rise up in their profession - they cant do it at home, or in some countries in the East, where educational institutions are limtied or bad.    The Bell curve which tried to prove the superiority of the white race is no longer valid.   If it were, Condeeleeza Rice wd not be secretary of state - and Toni Morrison would not have won the Nobel Prize for Literature for America!

We are physical beings. Our brain power is nothing but matter and energy. If our brains are physically different then our intelligence is different. I must point out that I did not mention bigger brains mean more intelligence, i just said different brains mean different intelligence.

I will stick to this untill someone proves that intelligence is propotional to quantity of X in our brains (eg synaptic nerve endings) and each race has the exact number of X.

Nope - Western science used to think so a few hundred years ago due to cranial size and therefore they thought intelligence would be lesser or greater as a result - ie Larger skull - more brains - more intelligent.

This was mostly a bias way of thinking though as it was the european science trying to propel themselves above other races. It was disregarded as mumbo jumbo not long afterwards.

Intelligence is based on the available information and culture provided and is nothing to do with any physiological difference between races.

There are differences in the Brains of different discrete groups of people. For example, aboriginal Australians have much less calcified pinneal glands than Europeans. The Pinneal gland regulates melanin which is associated strongly with sleep and dreaming which is culturally viewed very differently by native australians than by westerners..

Yes and no.  Our differences between races is mostly cosmetic and came out of a need to adapt to our surroundings.  If you took individuals from each race, with similar genetics (for intelligence, etc), and raised them together, they wouldn't be any more different than siblings are.  You can find intelligent and unintelligent people in every race.

So, why did I say yes?  Well, that has to do with social factors.  Due to racism and prejudice (racism is not the same as classifying races), poverty and other social ills, there are parts of the population that are more or less intelligent than others.  Often this seems to fall along racial lines within a given community.  Our larger cities in America are good examples of this.  In the suburbs you will often find better schools and safer communities that are often predominately white.  This is opposite of what is often found in the inner city.  Not that I agree with the scenario, not that I'm not trying to do something about it, and not that there aren't exceptions, but it is fact in a lot of areas.  But again, I want to point out that it mostly has to do with social issues and not the physiological mental aptitude that causes this to happen.

There is only one human race. All variations of skin colour, height and overall build are decided by local conditions. Therefore Africans have dark skin as it's better at dealing with hot weather. Europeans have light skin because it's better for dealing with the cold.

There is no difference in intelligence between an African man and a European man, or anyone else for that matter.
