Are there diffrent kinds of these fish ? I have heard that there are. I have heard that there arent. Im not sure which is true...

There are upwards of 10 species referred to as "elephant nose" through several different genera. Gnathonemus, Campylomormyrus, and Marcusensius all contain species known as "elephant nose".
