  1. Aster comes from the Greek aster (star), and relects the shape of the daisy-like rayed flowers.  There are about 500 species of aster.

Giant Crego Mixed is a wilt-resistant strain with large double flowers made up of long curled and twisted petals.  It contains all the flower colours for which asters are so well known and is a favourite for early flowering in summer gardens.  King Aster is a vigorous strain with plants about the same height as Giant Crego.  It flowers freely and has large, fully double blooms made up of attractive quilled petals with excellent lasting quality.  Perfection Aster Mixed is an outstanding strain with large evenly packed flowers with beautiful textured petals.  An excellent strain for cut flowers which last longer than other strains.  Dwarf Colour Carpet is a colourful dwarf aster growing to 20 cm high.  Ideal for borders and rock gardens.  Bouquet grows to about 40 cm and produces delightful, pastel-coloured flowers, pin-cushion shaped, 5 cm in diameter.  Excellent colour mixture for cut flowers.  Totem Pole is an entirely new strain producing sturdy plants to 60 cm tall.  It has a bright colour range of very large, fully double flowers with curled petals similar to Giant Crego.
