???are there different styles of italain??? im trying to learn a peom in italain it gos "sei ancora quello della pietra e della fionda, Uomo del tempo." (you are still the one with the stone and the sling, Man of my time.) but the web site said that that its

  1. It's mostly a matter of time, and of language development.  The Italian of Dante (13th/14th century) is different from the Italian of Umberto Ecco (20th/21st century) simply because languages change.

    For examples in English, compare Shakespeare's poems with those of Ted Hughes, in Spanish compare Cervantes with Rudolfo Anaya.

    Plus Babelfish is only capable of literal translations of individual words, with no regard to context or grammar, I think.
