I have heard of them but anybody recommend one? I am talking about actual electric shavers not the manual battery powered ones.

  1. Panasonic makes a battery shower shaver > see link below.

And batteries produce DC >direct current > electricity, so it should qualify as an electric shaver.

  2. ummm, no

125volts A.C. while soaked and standing in water = very bad idea

6volts d.c. in the same condition, you would never notice

any shower accpetable shaver is gonna be battery powered because they can't draw the volts or amperage to harm you

  3. I don't think you want to take anything electric into the shower with you, regardless of how it's grounded.  Think of the US serviceman who was electrocuted in Iraq not long ago because of poor grounding in the shower.

I have a Phillips which operates on either batteries or plug in.  You can use it wet/dry but I don't like the performance in the shower, so I use it before or after showering.  I find that shaving in the shower with a regular razor (Mach 3) and some foam is great.  The other place that's great for shaving with a regular razor is in the steam room or sauna.  Steam room is better and you don't need foam or gel or anything like that.  I've never had a closer shave.
