Are there exceptions with astrology signs?

So I was born on December 22nd, so that makes me a capricorn. The thing is, I don't act completely like a capricorn. I more so act like a sagitarius. I'm kinda of confussed. Does this mean who I'm compatible changes or something? Are there exceptions? Someone please help. And please, no rude comments about being into this whole astrology thing.
