  1. 99.9% of all living thing are not living at this time on planet earth. All we have is the evidance they were here. mass extinctions have happened before...will happen again....earth will die as Mars did. But that does not change where we are in our life cycle. So go to CoolingEarth.org to see the technologies that can move us to oil indepandance.

  2. Many scientists believe we are in the midst of a mass extinction, the first fueled by the actions of humans.  Ecological collapse?  In a global climate change world, it could happen, and that's one reason goverments are finally starting to come around, as the situation is beginning to impact the current and future economy throughout the world.

Why?  Why not?  We've claimed a lot of habitat in the name of one particular species, and those conditions aren't suitable for a great number of the species that dwell on the planet.  Endemics and specialists will fall in the greatest numbers.  A possible cure for cancer could vanish before it is realized.  There are tens of thousands of species that have never even been identified yet -- such a shame that they might leave us before we can accomplish that task.

It's a shame and a reflection upon society that we've allowed our world to conduct 'business as usual' at the cost of the environment that produces the resources that provide so ably for our needs.

  3. i think that we are going through a human caused extinction but the earth goes through cycles

  4. A mass extinction is going on right now. What's important to know though is this is the first mass extinction that was caused by another species, humans

  5. Yes there will be and the easiest to go extinct will be our food products. Most food you eat comes from plants that are almost identical to one another (apples that are of a certain variety mean that they come from a single tree that has been grown by grafting into a lot of separate, but identical trees).

Corn is almost all a single variety now a days so when a disease comes a long it is screwed. This goes for a lot of different plants as well. So they die we die.

Next are animals, which can be very susceptible to change and will die if they have no food etc.

When a Rain Forest is cut down the water cycle is screwed up, the soil is no longer held in place, water sources are not hidden from direct sunlight meaning evaporation, and animals will die due to lack of water and food. And it will become a desert...

So if a any point a food item dies out, if there is no species to take its place others will die and in a chain reaction the ecosystem will collapse..

  6. yes, very soon . because Nostradam said so.

  7. Mass extinction?  Does that mean that you won't have to go to mass on Sunday?   Ecological collapse?

Does that mean you buy into anything that you read?  I've got some swamp land in Florida for sale that's looking pretty good......Interested?
